History
University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) is located at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Its goal is to provide you with outstanding training, mentorship and support to ensure your future success as an emergency physician. The OSF Saint Francis Emergency Department is a regional tertiary care, Level 1 Trauma Center that cares for over 85,000 annual patients. The recently completed ED renovation has 57 patient treatment rooms and 18 observation beds in a modern design that facilitates patient care. Life Flight, our hospital based helicopter EMS service (HEMS), is the busiest HEMS program in the State of Illinois with over 1700 annual flights. OSF Saint Francis Medical Center is also home to the Children's Hospital of Illinois, the largest children's hospital between Chicago and St. Louis.
